Infertility and possible remedies

Patient

Q: I have been with my husband for five years and we have never had protected sex and never been pregnant. During that time I have had VERY irregualar periods and I just started again yesterday after not having one for almost a year. We have insurance but it is meager at best. I was wondering of there were any at home tests that I could use to try and narrow down the reason I am unable to get pregnant? I understand that in order to get pregnant you have to ovulate and if you are not having a period then you are not ovulating. Are there any over the counter drugs that can regulate ovulation? My husband is eager to have children and so am I, I have also read that stress is a big factor and I know for a fact that I stress about the subject very much because the thought of never having a child truly scares me.
