Intense back pain

Patient

Q: I have chronic lower back pain, The Mri said that I have a herniated disk, with regular degeneration. I see a doc for the pain, he just gives me lortabs, which generally helps with the pain. However I woke up yesterday morning with this killer pain in my back sorta of in a cross formation in my lower back. As well as a serious deep ache in my legs. This pain is so intense and so uncomfortable that the loratab barely touches it. My feet and ankles are in pain as well. Nothing helps it, lying down it is still so intense. My legs are so weak that I have to catch my self as they want to come from underneath me. The pain is so intense I am crying for this pain is unbearable. I am not sure what to do? I am not sure what is wrong? I have insurance, all I want is to have this fixed, so I can live a normal active life. Why do I have to live with such pain.
