Is it a UTI?

Patient

Q: I have had what I thought was a yeast infection for several days now. It started with a pressure, warm feeling in my vagina with pain when I pee at the end of peeing. There was no discharge, but the mucus inside was a little thicker or creamier than ususal so I started with a yogurt treatment followed by a Monistat 1 day yesterday. I've had pain at the end of urinating for over 4 days now. Now tonight the pain is more constant, but it also feels a little itchy in the vaginal area. The burn when I pee feels like contracting pain now at the end of urinating. I just did a UTI test strip and it's positive, but i'm concerned that the Monistat 1 day and cream may be affecting the results? Do you think it's more of a UTI than a yeast infection?
