Is it absolutely true IUDs can hold on to infections?

Q: Is it absolutely true IUDs can hold on to infections? Do they need to be removed if still positive for an infection you've already took to treatment for so you can take it again and I actually work? I tested positive for trichimonas with the paragard IUD in place. The gyn told me IUDs will hold on to an infection. I tool the dosage of 2 pills a day for 6 days, that's how long the prescription lasted. I tested positive for trichimonas 2weeks later. When I called the gyn for those results the receptionist professed to tell me to take the pills again they are prescribing and refused to let me speak to the gyn. If the gyn told me the IUD can hold on to the infection then why take the pills again while the IUD is still in place. Please I need medical advice.
