Is it okay for a former meth addict to take adderall as prescribed?

Patient : I am a former meth user with almost 4 years clean now and no relapses. I am VERY dedicated to my sobriety. However, I was diagnosed with add many years ago and had been prescribed Adderall. Over the past year I have been having extreme difficulty focusing, concentrating etc. I went to my doctor, who prescribed me adderall again. It has been a savior to me as I can finally focus again. My familys concern is that I was a meth addict before and are against me taking stimulants now. I really need a professional opinion...Please....
