Is sex safe in pregnancy Pregnancy?

Dear Ask The Doctor:
Is it safe to have sex while I'm pregnant?

Sex is usually safe in pregnancy though this depends on the trimester you are in. It is advisable to avoid sex if you've had a history of previous miscarriage, placenta previa, history of premature labor and rupture of membranes, partner has STI or if you are experiencing bleeding.
