Is there a benefit to controlling Type II diabetes through
Patient :Is there a benefit to controlling Type II diabetes through diet alone, rather than in conjunction with insulin treatments? For context, I am asking this question in reference to my grandfather, who is 84, has mid-stage Alzheimer's disease, has Type II diabetes, receives insulin treatment, eats a low sugar diet, is of normal weight, and gets a small amount of walking exercise from outings 1-2 times per week. Any dietary changes would be the responsibility of his caregiver.
