Is there a permanent treatment for hay fever?

Patient

Q: What is permanent Treatment of hay fever?

Doctor

A:   Hay fever therapy has to be individualized depending upon the patient's allergy profile. An Allergy Specialist would conduct an Allergy Skin Prick Test using commercially available allergen extracts of pollens, dusts, dust mites, fungi, animal dander, etc. to establish the cause of your allergy. Thereafter, a combination of avoidance therapy along with pharmacotherapy is started. As per individual's response, the therapy may be stepped up or stepped down, during the follow up visits. Pre-seasonal or Co-seasonal, Allergen Specific Immunotherapy may also be initiated, especially in individuals where avoidance therapy doesn't show desired response. Long term effective management of allergy is important to outgrow your sensitivities.
