Itching is driving me crazy

Q: I have had shingles for 3 weeks now. The blisters have dried but the back of my head where the rash has been is still very sore and itchy. I have been back to the doctor 4 times and she says to put on vaseline or olive oil. I have tried this, also calamine lotion and paracetamol and tramadol (Not together) but nothing takes the pain or itching away. I undersstand that some creams are not to be used on shingles but can I try diprobase? The itching and burning sensation is driving me crazy and I have been unable to sleep for more than an hour at night
