Both buspirone and trazodone work as anti-anxiety medications promoting sleepiness. However trazodone is an antidepressant of the serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitor (SARI) class. It is a phenylpiperazine compound and may lead to serotonin syndrome if the effect is potentiated, so its not recommended at all.
