I've had a sore throat for three weeks and it's not Strep and antibiotics can't get rid of it.
Patient : So, my throat has been sore for 3 weeks, and every time I go to the doctor, they give me antibiotics. Every time I finish off my prescription of antibiotics, it starts hurting again. The doctors have performed Strep tests on me and they have all came back negative. The pain isn't in the bottom of my throat (where you feel for knots), but it's actually in the top of my throat (near the uvula). It feels raw and swollen and there's a lot of mucus and flem running down my throat as well. What's wrong with my throat and what medicine do I need to take?
