Klebsiella pneumoniae UTI infection in Healthy Individuals
Patient : I am a 43-ear old female in good health. I just found out that a urine culture revealed that my urine tested positive for klebsiella pneumoniae. Everything I read on this organism, suggests that infections usually occur in people with a suppressed immune systems. I am now extremely worried that I now have some type of underlying illness that I am unaware of. My question is: how likely is it for a healthy individual to get a UTI from this bacteria?
