Patient : I injured my knee 8 weeks ago. Standing on a steel staircase facing sideways, my left leg on the top step, knee bent, right leg, down several steps. My right leg slipped down 3 stairs, while my left knee stayed bent on the top. I actually heard a nasty grind or rip noise. It didn't start to hurt right away, but has gotten progressively worse over the last 8 weeks. What can I do to help the knee keep it's strength while I wait MONTHS to see an orthopoedic surgeon? I have had no diagnostics except an xray that was normal.
