Knee Injury

Patient : Hi, About two weeks ago I injured my knee in karate, hearing a loud pop while performing a round house kick accompanied by quite a lot of pain. While bending my knee I get a sharp pain on the medial side, when extending my knee it catches and tends to lock. I followed up with an orthopedic doctor; however he told me that nothing is wrong with my knee after having an xray. My knee is getting worse and I am unable to tolerate putting much weight on it now. I'm curious as to what may be wrong with my knee and if I should pursue a second opinion?
Symptoms:  Pain, catching, locking, unable to tolerate weight very well, and slight swelling.
