Knee Pain

Patient: I’m 16 and have been playing softball for 6 years but have been inactive since the last season ended, I recently started running and working out again, and my knee has began to bother me again. This is the third time it has started bothering me since I went to the doctor for it last year and they told me nothing was wrong. It constantly feels like it’s grinding even when I’m not moving it. It keeps me up some nights and only feels better when I hold ice on it until it’s numb. I can’t stand too long without it bothering me. It’s a very dull achy pain but sometimes there is a sharp pain. I don’t understand what is wrong with it.
