Knee pain after replacement

Patient: I had both knees totally replaced, a year apart, the last one being done one and one half years ago. Both healed nicely and were great. About a month ago, they both started hurting when I go from sitting to standing. So much so that I have to use my arms to help lever me up. The pain is excruciating! What could this be from??
