Patient : Hi, I'm a 21 years old male, and I play basketball often. Now normally, when I'm active and walking about, my knees are completely fine. They are also fine if I sit down but keep my legs as straight as possible. However, if I have to sit while keeping my legs at a right angle, after a while, when I stand up and put some weight on my legs, my right knee feels painful. It eases and disappears after about 2 minutes of walking about.
I would like to ask if there is anything I should be concerned about, especially because I play basketball and I am thinking about undertaking a high-intensity training course over the next 3 months, which will have a lot of jumping or sprinting, so I want to make sure.
I admit that I have been playing basketball much more intensively the last 2 days, however I do not feel any fatigue nor had any accidents. I also do warm ups and stretching before and after.
