Patient : I had pain in my knee.I didnt fall or do anything to hurt it so i had a mri and saw a doctor. He said i had a tear in the mensiscus and osteonecrosis. He preformed a arthoscopic surgury. i was in surgery like 45 minutes and in the hospital for a total of 2 and a half hours. I had my surgury in oct. i was told it was just a minor surgery. i had alot of swelling the knee and to this day my knee is still swollen and very painful, i can't put alot of weight on it and it feels like it is going to buckle and give out. i went to see the surgeon today and was told what do u expect i did a major surgery on u and did a lateral release on ur knee. so my question is what is a lateral release surgery on a knee? how long does it take? what are the recovery times and such? any answers will be greatly appreicated. thank u
