Patient : I am a 20 yr old female and was playing basketball with a couple of friends. i made a sudden turn and i felt a pop in my knee and fell to the floor and had sudden pain to my knee, i tried to stretch it out and see how much pressure i could put on it to see if i could continue playing and i couldn't... When i got home i couldn't bend it pass 90 degrees but it wasnt swollen and i had to limp to stop from putting so much pressure on it and it . i decided to got to the emergency room just to make sure it was okay and i sat around for 4 hrs waiting... when i got in the back they asked me basic questions about how it happened then the main doctor came. he felt my knee then bent it in a couple ways and one way it had hurt really bad.... he said i was a knee sprain and wrapped it in a ace bandage and sent me home with some ibuprofen without taking a X-ray ...which i found type weird... the next morning, from my knee to my ankle was swollen ... its been a week and a half now and i still cant bend it that much pass 90 degrees without getting that pressured feeling and pain... is this regular or should i go to an orthopedic dr.
