Patient :I have a large lump on the lower left side of my back (lumbar region), seems to touch spine and continue about 4 inches to the left and about the width of 3-4 fingers up and down. I noticed it about 4 months ago, not sure if it existed prior to that (just being small and growing possibly), but have experienced extreme back pain for the last 6-8 years. The pain has caused me to seek relief for the last 4-5 years, but still the pain is very intense and sometimes is unbearable. But the large mass on my back is somewhat concerning, I just think that it is adding to the pain I already experience in my lower back. The large lump doesn't hurt to the touch, but seems to be adding to the existing pain. I am currently 30 years of age and have been noticing sharp , thin shooting pains all over my arms and legs. Just for an added note, my father served in Vietnam and was exposed to agent orange, which ultimately took his life in August of 2007. Not sure if any of this is related to what is going on with me, but figured it might be worth mentioning.
