Left-sided abdominal pain from stress

Patient

Q: Hi, for a number of years now I've experienced this burning pain in my left abdomen in an area about 4 inches to the left of my navel in a circular area about 3 inches in diameter. I only experience this pain from (typically) anxiety or anger. Overall I wouldn't say I have problems with anxiety etc., it's just that even smaller amounts of anxiety can cause this pain as long as I feel anxious, which can be several days or more. Once I feel fine again, the pain goes away. I don't have any other symptoms (i.e., bloating, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, etc.). I was diagnosed with IBS but wanted to get a second opinion as I thought it might be something else. A friend who works as a nurse in gastroenterology suggested I get tested for H. pylori, though the doctor I saw (I'm outside the US right now) wouldn't do the test.
