Patient : Dear Ask the Doctor, My aunt has diabetes and regulates her diet and blood sugar very well. However, this year she has received 5 pints of blood in transfusions due to a low blood volume. How can this happen when there is no sign of any bleeding, internally or externally? She is aged 87 years. Thank you
