Low fever, sore throat for 5 months.

Patient : Hi! I have been running a low-grade fever interittentently for 5 months now. (99.1-99.5, which for me, is a pretty decent temp, because I am hypothyroid and my temperature usually sits around 97.7) It is typically accompanied by a sore throat, which honestly seems to stick around most of the time. It's not a raw, scratchy, sore throat, like with strep, but more a general discomfort, or feeling that it is restricted. Sometimes it will be very specifically on the right side. I also began having headaches around this time, which is not something that I ever really got. My GP initially put me on an allergy spray, which did nothing, followed by 2 doses of very strong antibiotics, in case it was an infection. Nothing has gotten rid of it. He ran a CBC with blood differential, and all it showed was that I am mildly anemic, which we knew. I was also negative on multiple strep tests. I have also gained a little bit of weight, but I attribute that to the fact that I quit smoking almost 4 months ago, using Bupropion. (The symptoms were present before that, though). I am exhausted all the time, and just generally don't feel like myself. I don't know what to do. My GP sent me to an ENT who just talked to me for 2 minutes and said I should see an infectious diseases specialist. Please help!!!
