Low levels of vitamin D causing dry scalp.

Patient: Could low levels of vitamin d cause my scalp to be very dry?

Doctor: Vitamin D deficiency can cause osteoporosis, osteomalacia and may also be linked to depression, obesity and hyperparathy roidism.  Your dry scalp could be the result of dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis or psoriasis. You may need to consult your dermatologist to determine the cause of the dry scalp.
