Luteal phase defect ?

Patient

Q: Hi I'm trying to conceive.I have been charting my fertility and basal body temperature and having well timed intercourse throughout my fertile period.using ovulation predictor kits an ferning microscope.the thing is I've noticed I have a outran phase defect.my outran phase is 10 days but on day 6 I start spotting pink until gradually my period starts.also immediately after ovulation until my period I have a constant painful lower backache.I'm getting really upset with not conceiving as my husband and I have planned this child and it's getting us both down the fact that we are not conceiving.I must add we have children together so we have conceived together with charting my fertility but this luteal phase defect is definately a new problem to us.I have been told that clomid can help a luteal phase defect.is this true and can my GP prescribe clomid or can I buy it from a pharmacy ?
