Patient :Hi...I have pain on both sides of my neck...similar to when one wakes with stiff neck, which I thought it was initially, but that was a month ago. I tried anti-inflammatories which reduced the pain. It hurts when I turn my hear either way. I am now sleeping on a harder/flatter bed as I've moved to work in China. No gland swelling appears on the surface, or I don't think so anyway...the pain also extends to the top of the back of the neck just beneath the skull, again both sides. Is this likely to be just neck strain or something worth checking out for more sinister possibilities?
Symptoms: neck pain both sides extending to base of skull
