MRI of the Lumbar Spine

Patient : I have been seeing a pain management doctor for over a year due to low back and neck pain I've been experiencing for over ten years now. My MRI of the Lumbar Spine reads as follows under the caption, "Impression": 1. Mild lumbar rotoscoliosis with disc degeneration at all levels. 2. At L2-L3, 3-4 mm far lateral intraforaminal disc protrusion and moderate facet hypertrophy with borderline central canal stenosis. Mild lateral recess and neural foramen encroachment bilaterally. 3. At L3-L4, 2-3 mm far lateral intraforaminal disc protrusion and moderate facet hypertrophy without central canal stenosis. Mild lateral recess and neural foramen encroachment. 4. At L4-L5, 3-4 mm central disc protrusion and moderate facet hypertrophy without central canal stenosis. Disc material contacts, but does not efface the origin of the L5 roots. There is mild lateral recess and neural foramen encroachment bilaterally. 5. The conus and cauda equina as visualized are normal. The paravertebral soft tissues appear normal.
