Patient :My 83 yr.old mother in law who just has been discharged from hospital due to kidney failure started diaylisis while in there is scared to death of treatment. Hospital gave her diauldid to knock her out and now can't do it without literally giving herself panic attack at last treatment (#4 treatment). The transported her to a rehab facility that night but to our surprise we took her home because of the nightmare of a place..the smell of urine and seemed like it was from 1940..she has been home now for 5 days while we try to find a new clean fit for her..1 facility said no because she was a fall risk..( weak ,retaking some fluid in her legs and 2 wounds on her legs as well).the other doesn't take dialysis patients, and today another said she has been home and no one has seen her she has to be re evaluated..how are we to know..no help..my wife is falling apart over this..do we re admit her to hospital she needs either sub acute or acute therapy.she wants to walk but seems like she depressed to the point of drifting away....what do we do.
