Patient

Q: My dad had 224mg/dl fasting blood sugar and 358mg/dl post pandrial blood sugar
is it high or low?
what precautions should he take?

Doctor

A:   Hi
Both fasting and postprandial sugars are very high and it needs to be controlled.
One must understand that diabetes is a silent killer and it can damage your heart , eyes, kidneys, nervous system irreversibly.
Diabetes can be controlled by diet, exercise and medicines. Your father need to see a diabetologist and take advise from him/her.
Hope this will help
