Patient

Q: My Father is in remission from cancer! Little over 3 year's now. When he was told he was cancer free the doctors up and quite giving him his pain medications, which he had become very addicted to and dependent on. Unfortunately he's still addicted to the medicine and has since then went to buy them off the streets! His current doctor know of the situation and has recommended inpatient rehab but my father can't afford to quit working to do so. The doctor put him on some patch to help get him off but it failed! I really don't know what to do anymore! The addiction has consumed my dad to the point of it effecting his life as far as relationships with me, my family, his friends, and his work! What can I do? What should I do? I sincerely need HELP!
