My gynecologist does not seem to understand me All she
Patient :My gynecologist does not seem to understand me. All she told me was that what I experienced was odd. However, I probably did not explain it well. She put me back on OCP, but I am scared to take them. I took birth control around 15 or 16 to regulate my period, but I stopped. I am going to be twenty this year. Prior to taking birth control I never had cramps just some PMS symptoms. After getting on/off birth control (I was not taking them for a long time) I started getting cramps. At this point in my life I get cramps prior to my period, around the time I PMS. The earliest I have experienced cramps was a week prior to starting my period. However, once I start my period it goes away, but I know it is only a matter of weeks before I have to deal with the pain again. What I have found is having an orgasim also triggers the pain, it is really bad pain. The pain radiates from my lower abdomen (pelvic area), my lower back and all the way down my thighs. For a while now I have stopped having intercourse all together. However, regardless of having an orgasim or not I get severe cramps in waves. All morning long I have been looking for an answer, but to no avail. I have found that endometriosis causes bad cramps. However, I do not remember it being painful during intercourse. Is this normal? I have an appointment with a different gynecologist next week, but I do not know what to expect. I would love some feedback before I go in. I am worried, I do not want to be completely shocked. I am worried I will not be able to have children in the future. Do you think it is endometriosis or something else?
