My Husband and I are planning for a Baby

Patient

Q: My Husband and I are planning for a Baby. We had intercourse on 16th Feb 2015 (17th Feb being My ovulation day). On 22nd Feb I need to participate in a marathon where I may have to walk or run around 3 to 4 kms. Will it affect our plan. Please advise if I can participate or not.

Doctor

A:   Hi,
Thanks for the query.

I understand your concern.
You can proceed according to your plan.
Better to prefer walking instead of running.
If you conceive also, walking may not affect very early gestation.
Maintaining adequate hydration and nutrition during marathon is needed.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
