Patient :My mother is a type 2 diabetic and I noticed today that the 2nd toe is slightly purple about 1cm from the tip on down and the 3rd toe is also slightly purple about 4-6mm. She does a lot of gardening and a possiblity of toe damage could be a cause, but there is no pain. I saw on the internect of a possible blockage by chloresterol (blue toe) on the internet. Should I make an appointment for a Dr. , send her to the hospital or try massage and epson salt in warm water to possibly improve circulation?
