My question concerns my friends child and I have some
Patient :My question concerns my friends child and I have some concern. She has a 6 (almost 7) year old daughter with some behavior issues. To start with she is very scared of alot of things, I took her swimming and she was afraid of being in the water, when a water jet touched her leg underwater she freaked out. Another time she dropped a toy in the car and couldn't find it and started panicking almost crying. On another incident we were in the mall and I took her to look at toys while her mom and a friend shopped around and when we went to catch up with them she started yelling "MOMMY" and the top of her lungs over and over, it was very embarrassing and she wasn't doing it out of fear or anything she was laughing about it like it was a game but no matter what I said she wouldn't stop. She is also behind academically from other kids her age, she has a very difficult time reading and can only read a few small words at best, alot of difficulty printing simple words as well and her teachers have expressed concern. She also tends to act out by kicking and hitting random things alot. She also suffers from a speech lisp. I know my friends ex husband yelled and got very angry and was possibly even physically abusive twords her and the child witnessed this so I'm not sure if that is a connection or cause. Any help would be much appreciated.
