Patient :My son is 7 1/2. On day one he started running a low grade temp and complained of headache and his eyes hurt was very tired and had runny nose and cough. on day 2 he ran a higher temp 101 and it took a while to get that fever to break but finally motrin helped. He complained of his head hurting and that his eyes kept watering and had other symptoms as before. His eyes were very weak and tired. He also started getting bumps all over his back thighs and botttom legs. these bumps are like red dots some bigger then others but they don't itch or anything. I kept his fever down by giving him Tylenol and motrin. On the 3rd day I took him to the doctor they tested him for the flu and it was positive. He has been resting and he still has a fever it gets the highest at night. However the rash is now on the front of his legs and his belly and some are on his back and arms but not as bad as his legs. Its currently day 4 and it seems that the rash is worse but doesn't seem to be itchy or bothering him it just looks awful and his legs ache but could be from laying down the past two days and not really "moving a lot". I was just wondering if this rash is common and if you get a rash with the flu because ive never heard of it and how long it will last and when the fever should start to fade away. o and he has no desire to eat he had been drinking and I had him eat a few crackers just so the motrin doesn't hurt his belly because it has been hurting.
