My son sleeps so much at eleven months.

Patient

Q: My son (nephew) is 11 months old. At seven weeks he had severe head trauma and was diagnosed with shaken baby syndrome. He is developing slowly, as expected, but he is progressing so much that we were confident that he was just gonna be a little behind on development. I know that head injuries are tricky, as far as telling the level of brain damage. Like I said he is 11 months now and he still sleeps as much as a newborn. He is always tired it seems. I play with him and try to keep him entertained to keep him awake, but it doesn't last long. He sleeps most of the day and then at 7pm hes out for the night and doesn't wake up til 7am. Hes never awake for more than two hours at a time during the day and he never wakes up at night. I am concerned. Should I be doing something or is this just how it is?
