My wife is approximately six weeks into her pregnancy She

Q: My wife is approximately six weeks into her pregnancy. She has recently taken a blood test and been diagnosed as anaemic (10.3 g/dl) and has been prescribed Ferose (iron as ferric hydroxide-polymaltose complex) 100 mg daily for 30 days, in addition to her usual multivitamins (Pregnacare and Feroglobin – 30 mg of iron daily in total). She is also currently breastfeeding our 14-month old son. Our questions are:

- Should my wife continue to breastfeed on this basis?
- If she does continue to breastfeed, would there be any possible negative effects on the composition of her milk considering the supplements she is taking, as above?

Thank you
