Nerve transfer operation

Patient: If I would to have a nerve transfer operation , will I be able to run again or brisk walk? If so how long will the recovery time be?

Doctor: From my knowledge of the nerve transfer surgery, they work better for nerve damage in the upper extremity of the body ra ther than the lower. Since this is still a very new process more research is being done. Usually with any surgery nothing is a guarantee and recovery times vary in every individual.
