Patient : Let me preface this by saying that I am generally a very healthy person. I usually get a cold once a year and that's the only time I get sick. This year I got a nasty cough from a toddler and I was coughing for a month. I went to the doctor and he shrugged it off and said it's probably allergies and gave me nasal spray. Despite my cough sounding horrendous! That nasal spray did not help. It took about 7 or 8 weeks but my cough eventually went away. Then I got better for like a week. Then I got a bad cold and I had a sinus infection as well as the worst sore throat I've ever had. Went to the doctor again and he reluctantly put me on antibiotics for. Week and told me it could be allergies as well. While I was on antibiotics I was blowing out some really nasty mucus it was pure orange colored never had that happen before. The sore throat eventually went away but the day after I stopped taking antibiotics I had a sore throat again. Which also hurt super bad. And I've had it for several weeks now. But today my throat FINALLY feels better but now I have a sore on the roof of my mouth which is EXTREMELY PAINFUL. it's just a red inflamed area though no bump or anything. While my throat still hurt I went to the doctor and she gave me steroids to take which I didn't take because of the side effects. What could be causing this sore throat mouth sore?! Could it seriously be allergies which I've never had before or something more sinister???
