Patient :Hello, I was told months ago that I had alcohol hepatitis of the liver. I had blood tests and the results were extremely high where they shouldn’t be and my nutrition was extremely low. Scans were done for cirrhosis and fortunately I was told I did not have that. I stopped drinking completely and drastically improved my food intake. I’ve since had a blood test and the results came back brilliant, my liver is functioning normally and all the results had improved and were at a normal healthy level. Although was told a part of my liver may still be damaged but It was functioning normally. I do not have an alcohol problem and have no intention of drinking to excess. Am I able to drink alcohol once again responsibly and not be at any higher risk of damaging my liver than any other person now that my liver function is normal? I understand that no body should be encouraged to drink and certainly not if they have drunk too much in the past however I must stress that I will never have an issue with alcohol in the future.
