Ok to take Prometrium while pregnant?

Patient : HI, Is it ok to take Prometrium 200 mg 2x per day even if you’re not sure if you need it? I am 4 weeks pregnant (conceived naturally) with a Beta of 286, and have not had my progesterone levels tested (my RE doesn’t think I need to) and I just want to have extra insurance that this pregnancy is going to stick. Even if my body is producing enough progesterone, does it hurt to have extra from Prometrium? I have a prescription left over from a couple of months ago when I had an IUI that didn’t work. My nurse at the fertility office said it’s ok to start take it starting now at 4 weeks, but I wanted to get a second opinion. Thanks for your help! Mia
