Oral health

Patient: Hi, I am trying to find the right doctor to diagnos a problem my son has had now for 11 months. I did not know the problem was so bad since he doesn’t live with me but is visiting and I checked his mouth and I believe this could be boarder line emergency. He has seen a doctor in the Winston-Salem area and has an appointment next week with an oral surgen to get a biopsy. I was told the problem was getting better but it seems to be getting worse to me. My son is 13 years old. Underweight which may be due to the problem he has. His mouth is raw inside. Looks like tissue at the back of his mouth is being eaten away. His lips are swollen and looks like sores in the corners of his mouth. He had a shot in school last September but can’t say that is related but the problem started shortly afterwards. His gums are swollen but the doctors say it is not gingivitis and they don’t know what is going on. I would send a picture but he is sleeping. His lips and cheeks are swollen and the inside of his mouth is swollen everywhere and looks almost like a coating of thick skin and his throat looks very bad. I need to try to get him in to be seen by a doctor today but I don’t know where to start. What type of doctor to get an appointment with.
