Pain and numbness in thumb and wrist

Patient

Q: Hello. I had sudden pain last night in the outside of my thumb, wrist and up into my forearm. I also had pain that seemed to be coming from the inside of my elbow and runs down my forearm. Moving my thumb or elbow elicits pain. It also hurts just sitting still. This morning I woke up and it doesn't hurt as much, but it is swollen on top of my hand between my thumb and forefinger and it is also pretty much completely numb from my knuckles on my forefinger and middle finger down to my wrist and then over to the side of my thumb.also, when I make a fist and then try to bend my wrist down, there is a tightness and pulling sensation in the top of my hand.
