Pain in shoulder, close to base of neck.

Q: Dear Doctor,
I am a 21 year old male, and three days ago I awoke with mysterious pain located at the back of my right shoulder blade, close to the base of the neck. I assumed I'd slept on it funny and that it would go away, but in the subsequent days it has done the opposite, increasing in pain. It's so close to the neck that I don't think it's rotator cuff, but I'm not sure what else it might be. My pain is sharp, and intermittant, it hurts when I move and then fades away, only to spike the next time I move. I took Aleve about 45 minutes ago, to little affect. What would you suggest?
