Patient : My 12 year old daughter has mentioned that after she urinates she feels a slightly sharp pain in her lower area. This occurrence is only when she has to urinated with a lot of pressure. She feels no pain when her lower area is pressed upon and says it only lasts for a few seconds. When it first started on Saturday her pain was at an 8 and today it is at a 4. She has just finished a normal 5 day menstrual cycle. She does not feel this discomfort all the time, just when she urinates. Do you think it is an infection and I should take her to a OYBGN or the family doctor? No, she is not sexually active.
