Painful Bump on Labia Minora

Patient: Hi, I have a painful bump on my labia minora. I just noticed it today. I am only twenty years old and haven’t had any sexual activity in the past year. I do have problems with bodily acne. What is this?

Doctor: Lumps in the labia could be due to ingrown hairs, sebaceous cysts and bartholin’s gland cysts. These do not require any treatment unless they are causing discomfort. I would suggest that you take over the counter pain medication and apply warm compresses to alleviate your symptoms.
