Painful Lipoma’s getting worse and increasing in number

Patient: My maternal grandpa had some sort of disease that caused lipoma’s to grow when he hit into something really hard and a bruise developed. They weren’t painful to him so he never had them removed. I’ve had 2 painful egg-sized lipoma’s removed from the abdomen 2 inches lateral to my belly button three months apart from eachother. I’m sure I’ve had them for a while, but last year in May, they became quite painful. Now I’ve got more on both sides now and they’re getting more and more painful. I’ve been told to have them removed, and also been told by someone else to leave them alone. I don’t know what to do and I feel very discouraged. I can’t wear normal pants and I’m afraid it’s just going to get worse and worse. What do I do? Why am I getting these and why are they becoming painful all of the sudden? What can I do to prevent them from recurring and my body from making more? What can I do to fix this so I can feel normal again? I don’t know what to do! If I get them out, do I go to a surgeon, a family practice dr, a dermatologist, an oncologist? Please help!!
