Patient :I had a number of operations when I was very young, due to being premature by approx 12 weeks. I had a fundoplication and a gastrostromy tube fitted. I am now 21 and having problems with both scars. the scar from the fundo is fairly large and gives me weird sensations when touched, i can only feel on part of it, and i assume this is due to nerve damage. also, where it lies, it has caused skin on one side to become more raised than the other side, and it sits at a different level and isn't 'smooth', not that I expect a scar to be, but the skin on either side of the scar should sit at the same level. the second, bigger problem, is my scar from my gastrostromy has provided a lot of trouble. When i had the tube in me, whenever I got hungry it used to tug and become very painful. this continued when I had it removed and it started to lessen after approx 6 years however it is coming back. Also it it extremely painful if i load any weight at all on the scar or if anyone touches it. It is giving me extreme uncomfort/pain even just sitting down now, or moving around that point. sitting up from a lying down position is difficult enough and even breathing causes the scar to pull and get tight. Are there any solutions, obviously every case is different but I just want some hope even just that I can get rid of the pain and stop the feeling that any movement too far will rip open the scar
