Patient :My 8 yr old child is a Strep Carrier. He has recently infected 4 people (that we are aware of) with strep after being non-active for a year. He doesn't get ANY symptoms of the strep when he becomes active, with the exception of the Scarlet Fever rash on his hands. Unfortunately, it is always too late when the rash appears! He had his first case of Strep at 2 years old and has had it at least once a year since....Our doc doesn't seem concerned. Should we consider bypassing our pedi and consulting an ENT or perhaps an Infectious Disease doc??!?!?! Please HELP!!!
