Patient :Past couple days I've had problems breathing. When i lay down, my airways get tight really fast. Eating anything at all causes me problems after 10 minutes or so on average. My albuteral sulfate inhaler has no effect as it usual would with typical airway tight ess. Sitting up or standing is the only way to alleviate the issue at all. An exercise causes issues as well. Coughing causes tightness as well. Im 5ft 9in tall, weigh 185. Not sure if its an upper respiratory infection or not. My cat (which ive only ever gotten itchy eyes from, and doesnt go outside) was confirmed to have a respiratory infection as well. Any help is appreciated.
Welcome to Ask The Doctor.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
You seem to be suffering from any of the following:
2. Bronchial Asthma.
3. Lower respiratory tract infection.
I would advise in such scenario:
1. Hemogram with ESR
2. Chest- Xray
If the Chest Xray and these blood investigations are clear, you would be treated for Bronchial Asthma / Bronchitis.
Treatment constitutes anti-allergic drugs like Levocetirizine and Montelukast and in severe cases inhalers containing like Salbutamol and Steroid inhaler like Budesonide.
Share my opinion with your doctor before acting upon it.
I hope it helps.
Get well soon.
